چکیده

A new near-to-far-field transformation algorithm for three-dimensional finite-different time-domain is presented in this article. This new approach is based directly on the polarization current of the scatterer, not the scattered near fields. It therefore eliminates the numerical errors originating from the spatial offset of the E and H fields, inherent in the standard near-to-far-field transformation. The proposed method is validated via direct comparisons with the analytical Lorentz-Mie solutions of plane waves scattered by large dielectric and metallic spheres with strong forward-scattering lobes. c © 2009 Optical Society of America

Simulation of Time Modulated Linear Antenna Arrays Using the Fdtd Method

Time modulated linear antenna arrays consisting of printed dipoles above a ground plane are simulated using the finitedifference time-domain (FDTD) method. The FDTD method brings great convenience to the investigation of the time domain responses of the time modulated arrays. In conjunction with the near-to-far field transformation in time domain, the far-field transient response can be compute...

Polarization Properties in Apertureless-Type Scanning Near-Field Optical Microscopy

Polarization properties of apertureless-type scanning near-field optical microscopy (a-SNOM) were measured experimentally and were also analyzed using a finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulation. Our study reveals that the polarization properties in the a-SNOM are maintained and the a-SNOM works as a wave plate expressed by a Jones matrix. The measured signals obtained by the lock-in dete...

Far-field radiation of photonic crystal organic light-emitting diode.

Utilizing the near- to far-field transformation based on the 3-D finite difference time domain (FDTD) method and Fourier transformation, the far-field profile of a photonic crystal organic light emitting diode is studied to understand the viewing angle dependence. The measured far-field profiles agree well with those of the simulation. The enhancement of the extraction efficiency in excess of 6...

Unraveling near-field and far-field relationships for 3D SERS substrates--a combined experimental and theoretical analysis.

Simplicity and low cost has positioned inkjet paper- and fabric-based 3D substrates as two of the most commonly used surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) platforms for the detection and the identification of chemical and biological analytes down to the nanogram and femtogram levels. The relationship between far-field and near-field properties of these 3D SERS platforms remains poorly unde...

Comprehensive RCS Simulation of Dispersive Media Using SO-FDTD-DPW Method

Perfectly Matched Layer (PML) is modeled by Split-Field FDTD (SF-FDTD) in order to simulate Radar Cross Section (RCS) of a plasma slab. PML is used as an absorbing boundary, and discrete plane wave (DPW) is employed to generate plane wave. DPW method has a power isolation of −300 dB between scattered-field and total-field regions. The dispersive media is modelled by shiftoperator FDTD. In this ...
